Two Post-doctorate projects/ certificates conducted for 4 years in University Putra Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the field of Microbiology: novel bacteriophage designing, phage-based therapy, and novel phage-based rapid diagnostic assays. More than ten years of experience in scientific research and in university teaching (lecturing) in the field of Medical microbiology & biotechnology: 6 years in Iraq and 5 years in Malaysia. 13. Thorough research experience (with two UK-filed PCT international patents) in unique and highly demanded field of recent and futuristic applications of bacteriophages in health including alternative antimicrobials research, novel bacteriophage designing, production of phage lysins, phage- and phage lysin- based biocontrol and bioprocessing, phage and phage lysin therapy, phage-based rapid diagnostic assays which altogether constitute an essential experience in the endeavor for finding functional alternatives for current antimicrobials of human and animal pathogenic microbes. Winning twice the funding competition held by a leading research funding organization in the Middle East region, namely Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF). Two projects were funded by ASTF, each project lasted 2 years. These projects led to breakthrough and patented outcomes. The lump sum of funding is about 540,000 USD. 15.Three projects were funded by University Putra Malaysia and led to three patents registered at Malaysian IPO (myIPO). The lump sum of funding is approximately 250,000 USD. 16.Supervised one PhD and two master students in the field of Microbiology in University Putra Malaysia. 17. More than 67 refereed scientific articles were published in reputable international journals in the field of Microbiology and Biotechnology for the last 5 years. Twenty two articles published included my name as the first author and 35 articles included my name within the first 3 authors. 19. Number of citations by Scopus is 130 (2008-present) and by Thompson Reuter is 61 (2008-present). 22.Two granted UK-filed PCT international patents (WO2010064044 and WO2011098820). The first patent describes the discovery of novel and unprecedented approach for experimental designing of bacteriophages into highly lytic and specific antibacterial agents against any target bacteria (alternatives for antibiotics). The second patent describes a newly invented phage-based rapid diagnostic test by using designed bacteriophages in Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate- based rapid diagnostic assays for pathogenic bacteria.
